The Research Office
provides administrative support for two Concord Hospital Committees:
The Human
Research Ethics Committee meets every month to evaluate new research
proposals, to monitor on-going research activities, and to formulate policy
in relation to the ethical conduct of research trials in Concord Hospital.
Guidelines for
submitting a research proposal to Concord Hospital can be found by clicking
on “Guidelines”.
The National Ethics Application Form can be accessed at www.ethicsform.org/au.
The Ethics proformae for information sheet and consent form can be found by clicking on “Forms” on the menu bar.
The
Concord Research Office liaises with the Hospital Drug Committee in
administering in-house or pharmaceutical company-sponsored drug trials.
Applications involving the therapeutic trial of drugs, should first be sent to the Hospital Drug Committee, prior to review
by the Human Research Ethics Committee. More information is available from the
clinical trials pharmacist, on (02) 9767 7035, including a schedule of
pharmacy fees for company-sponsored trials.
The Concord
Hospital Research Committee meets every 2 months. Within its terms of
reference are the facilitation and promotion of research on Concord Hospital
campus. Meetings are open to any member of the research community who is
interested in attending and minutes are available through the Research
Office. The Research Office supports research activity by helping in the
administration of grant applications and by disseminating funding
opportunity information. See “Grant
links”.
