Health Promotion
The Health Promotion Service develops, implements and evaluates community-based programs that improve and maintain population health and reduce inequalities in health outcomes.
Priority areas include:
- physical activity and nutrition;
- tobacco control;
- fall injury prevention.
The Service consists of about 60 staff who are based at five sites across the Sydney and South Western Sydney Local Health Districts. These sites include Bankstown, Camperdown, Liverpool, Narellan and Rosemeadow.

Our next Strategic Plan
The SWSLHD and SLHD Health Promotion Service is developing the next Health Promotion Strategic Plan 2012 – 2017.
The Strategic Plan will identify key priorities and strategies for implementation aimed at improving the health and well being of our communities and reducing health inequalities.
We have developed a discussion document and invite you to comment on our strategic direction.
