Welcome to the South West Sydney Centre for Applied Nursing
Research (CANR) website.
CANR has established an extensive program of nursing research,
education and postgraduate supervision. We are working with
clinicians in SSWAHS to:
1.
Undertake research
2.
Develop evidence based guidelines, working with clinicians to
undertake research
3.
Promote best practice
CANR is also home to the New South Wales Centre for Evidence
Based Health Care which is the NSW Collaborating Centre of
the Joanna Briggs Institute. We work closely with the
clinical facilities across SSWAHS and the majority of
projects are in collaboration with clinicians. The CANR team
is also active in the development and evaluation of evidence
based guidelines as well as the publication of Systematic
Reviews.
CANR was established by the School of Nursing University of
Western Sydney (UWS) and the Sydney South West Sydney Area
Health Service (SSWAHS). The School of Nursing has 2000
undergraduate students and 100 post graduate research
students, and the SSWAHS provides health care for around 1.3
million people. Combining the resources of both provides a
strong and enduring nursing research culture and infra
structure at CANR.
As you will see from the projects listed on this web site, the
staff working at CANR are experienced researchers with
strong track records.
We encourage visitors to this web site to
contact us to talk about research.
