18 year old Motor Cross Rider : Rope Injury to Neck

  • M - Rope Injury to Neck
  • I - Stridor
  • S - RR 26/m BP 110/m P 94/min GCS 15
  • T - O2, Morphine 5mg IV
On Arrival The Injury
  • A - Whispering, Moderate Stidor
  • B - AE Equal, RR 26/m
  • C - BP 130, P 100/m
  • D - Alert, Very Anxious, In Pain

The Options

Plan A

  1. C - Spine Immobilization
  2. C - Spine X-Ray
  3. Prepare for Intubation

Plan B

  1. Immediate orotracheal intubation
